The Annual Historic Globe Fall Festival will be a four-day event this year. Friday, Oct. 28 running through Monday, Oct. 31 (Halloween).
Friday, Oct. 28 Activities
Carnival on Oak Street! Copper Rim Elementary & Cobre Valley Center for the Arts are joining forces! There will be games, face painting and food galore! Vendor marketplace booths of jewelry, arts & crafts, farmers’ market and baked goods, and more! There will also be hay rides, a fun Halloween Not-So-Scary Kids Zone, including a storyteller and a Gypsy Zone!
7th Annual B.Y.O.P. (Bring your own Pumpkin) Town Pumpkin Carving Contest & Event. You provide the pumpkin, we provide the tools and tables, contest & fun! Open from 5 to 8 p.m., judging announced at 7:30 p.m. (One of the Vendors will have pumpkins for sale on-site.)
Chili & Cornbread Cook-off from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., judging announced at 7:30 p.m. You choose your style: chili beans, green chili, meat, etc. No entry fees, but samples will be sold for the benefit of the CVCA.
Haunted 1910 Historic Jail "Prison of Terror" (No-one under the age of 8 will be permitted). Tours start at 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.; $5/entry fee.

From 10 a.m. to dusk Oak Street marketplace vendor booths of jewelry, arts and crafts, farmers’ market and baked goods, and more!
From 2 p.m. to dusk additional Carnival booths will be added to the fun!
Annual Ghosts of Globe Walking Tour with a unique route and new features. Join us for an 45-minute walking tour of our fabulous Historic Downtown, including one of our buildings that is on the Haunted Registry. Tours depart from the Historic 1906 Gila County Courthouse front steps every 15 minutes, starting at 6:30 p.m., last tour departs at 8 p.m. Please wear comfortable shoes and note that there are stairs and some uneven pavement spots on the tour. A $5 donation to the Historic Jail Restoration Fund requested per tour (but we won't say "no" to more), and tipping is welcomed at our "Red-Light-District" Stop, all in fun!
This year we are happy to be co-sponsors for the re-creation of the Old Historic Cemetery for the tour, we have Civil War Veterans & Buffalo Soldiers up there! We will also be joined by a real-live team of "Ghost Hunters" with some of their "tools-of-the-trade" for any questions following the tour. By nature of the subject matter, this tour is not suitable for all children, so any children must be have an adult in tow.
After the tour we invite you to roam our Historic 1910 Sheriff's Office and Jail (also on the haunted registry). It will be set-up as the Prison-of-Terror Haunted House and is not for the faint of heart ($5/person)
Post-tour, one of our local merchants will be offering an open-house to his building where he will recount his experiences with his "resident." Maps will be provided to the historic cemetery for your touring on Sunday. Trust us! It is worth staying over to do, the roads up there were never designed for motored vehicles. Starting at dusk (6 p.m.-ish) "All Hallows Eve Feast" will start. It is a family event put on by the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts and the Copper Cities Community Players, costumes welcomed and encouraged! There will be taco feasting, a beer garden and a performance stage. Don’t miss this!
7th Annual "Pictures on the Porch" Event: local photographer Linda Gross will be on hand for taking your Halloween Family Pictures. Samples of her wonderful work are available online at fullcirclephotoworks.com or at The White Porch Gifts & Antiques on Broad and Oak. This event has grown so big that we no longer "fit on the porch" but there are always great backdrops and Linda and friends are a hoot! Sunday night is a great night for your family pics! Prices start at $10 as a gift to downtown. Thank-you FullCircle!

From 5:30 to 7 p.m. join us for our Annual Downtown Trick-Or-Treat Event! Our wonderful downtown merchants, local businesses and clubs line the streets in downtown to meet and greet and pass out treats! Last year our Historic District handed out candy to an estimated 8,000 children and are expecting even more this year. Candy donations are gratefully accepted at the Historic Jail the night of the event or earlier at The Center for the Arts/White Porch Gifts or Ortega's Shoe Store on Broad. If you want to be a "Candy Sponsor," funds are accepted through our 501(c)3 at The Center for the Arts. We love our Sponsors!
DJ Big John's Golden Sounds will be on Broad Street with Halloween music and dancing to Big John’s top 13!
At 6:30 p.m. the Annual Costume Contest will begin for all age groups. Bragging rights and prizes will be awarded for Spookiest, Most Boo-tiful, and a New family/Group-Alike category! All winners receive a free portrait sitting immediately following the contest from FullCircle Photoworks who will be on hand at the event!
Free event raffle! In an effort to get an event "Head" count, enter to win the HUGE prize package from the Globe Historic Main Street Program. Free to enter and no personal information required. Winner will be announced at 8 p.m., look for it on Halloween Night on the Old Courthouse Bandstand adjacent to the DJ.
