How mascot costumes are made

Except for the most naive of fans, high school sports spectators know that the mascot they see out there dancing and cheering at events is a person wearing a costume. Few people really think about how the mascot costume came to be.

As we have seen in previous Mascot Mondays posts, a huge majority of mascot costumes were made by professionals . These aren't in the same league as homemade Halloween costumes that some kids wear. They're meticulously crafted, special ordered - and they're not cheap.
